Over the last four weeks the children of Windfield NS have been taking part in the Skip Around Europe Challenge as they work towards earning their first Active Schools Flag.
1 skip=1 km travelled.
Throughout the four weeks (starting March 31st), the children have been able to 'travel' to many European capital cities, including Copenhagen (1,240 km/skips), Berlin (1,315 km/skips) and Athens ( 2,856 km/skips). Ultimately, the children's collective overall skips brought them as far as Ankara, Turkey and beyond!
This challenge has given many of the children the opportunity to learn how to skip and to develop the skill further through games, utilising various equipment and through continued skipping practice using ropes.
